Sub regions

North East England is divided in to four administrative sub regions: Durham, Northumberland, Tees Valley, and Tyne and Wear. Each sub region was represented on the housing executive to ensure that the sub regions fed into regional policy.

The sub regions developed sub regional housing strategies, which detail the housing priorities in the sub regions. These were assessed by the North East Housing Board and provided the basis for the allocation of the SHIP funding for 2008 to 2011.
